Medicated Assisted Treatment

Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT), in combination with counseling and other behavioral therapies, has been successful in treating opiate addiction. MAT works to control psychological cravings while allowing the body and brain to normalize. The patient is able to accomplish set goals to improve other physical, emotional and social areas that have been negatively impacted by their addiction.

TYPES OF MEDICATED ASSISTED TREATMENT

Addiction Treatment of Maryland offers Suboxone (Buprenorphine / Naloxone) for daily use and Naloxone (Vivitrol) as a monthly injection. We have seen great success with both. For information on these medications please visit the following sites: https://www.suboxone.com/ https://www.samhsa.gov/medication-assisted-treatment/treatment https://www.vivitrol.com/

MAT is only effective when combined with behavioral therapy therefore, patients must engage in therapy as scheduled .
