What to Expect During Your Intake Appointment

Going into treatment can be scary. You are going into an unfamiliar place with people you don’t know. We do our best to make sure you are comfortable and feel welcomed.

The admission process starts with a phone screening. You will speak with an Admissions Coordinator who will ask some questions to assess your needs. They will also review payment options. If you have insurance, the Coordinator will get your insurance information, run your benefits and schedule an appointment. Next day appointments are available. In some cases, we may be able to get you in the same day.

It is important to be on time. Of course we will do our best but, we cannot guarantee your will be seen the same day if you are late. During your intake appointment you will check in with the Intake Coordinator. The Intake Coordinator will provide you with necessary paperwork to complete and guide you through signing any required insurance forms and a release of information. This release allows us to communicate with relevant individuals, such as your doctor, lawyer, probation officer, or emergency contact, as needed. A urine sample will also be collected.

When you come for your intake appointment make sure you have your insurance card and a picture ID (if you have them). If you are coming for Residential Treatment, please bring:

  • prescribed medications
  • 5 day’s worth of clothes (the size of a trash bag)
  • toiletries

After we receive the urine results, you will meet with an Intake Counselor who will do a full assessment and schedule you for a mental health evaluation. This is where your treatment recommendations are discussed and your individualized treatment plan is made.
